Carlo Pavan

Statement

“I’ve worked as a performer at sea for many years and the views of the ocean always fascinated and inspired me. The purity and force of the element of water. The healing power of the sound of waves rolling and crashing. The instant connection between the rhythm of the tide and our heartbeats. ‘The blue that cures the human blues’, as I like to say. Rarely I felt such a connection with any other element in nature.

Travelling more than 70 countries, thanks to my job, opened my eyes on the diversity and stunning beauty of this planet’s landscapes, and on the crucial importance of nurturing, defend and preserve this incredible resource, more so in these times of serious climate emergency. That’s why, naturally and organically, my art developed and became a celebration of ocean and land.”
